Lirui’s Novel In Shanxi Contemporary Literary Pedigree

In the development of Shanxi as well as contemporary Chinese literature, the creation of Lirui is a bright spot which can not be ignored.Especially in his series of novels which treat the “Luliang mountains” as the background, and these novels have attracted tremendous attention because of the deep thinking and unique narrative perspective.From a collection of short stories Thick Soil to “Walk The Mountain” series, Li keeps an unique view on “Luliang mountains”, the thick soil, and tenaciously represents the real existence dilemma of local people in the rural society.In the process of repeated narration to “Luliang mountains”, Li not only achieved creation breakthrough and beyond but also formed his own specific creative pursuit and goal.For the local novels of Lirui, if we still simply use the old tone that criticize the nationality to generalize their artistic value, then it is great kill to the richness and innovation of Li’s novels.If we want to have a deeper understanding to the complex and rich connotation and value of the novels,we should trace back, and make a in-depth study from the relationship between Li and contemporary Shanxi literature to seek the origin of his creation, explore its unique charm and value.In the first part of this paper, it discusses the indissoluble bound between Li and Luliang mountains formed in the Cultural Revolution period, and it also discusses the significant influence of six years cut in line life on his thought and personality to trace the profound reasons of the formation of his creation thought;The second part puts Lirui into the category of Shanxi contemporary literary genealogy,analysis the inheritance and transcendence of his works to the Shanxi contemporary literary realism from the angle of creation, so that to excavate the origin of “rustic character”of his local novels,and the unique creative pursuit and narrative method which are formed on the basis of it;The third part compares Lirui with several Shanxi contemporary writers so as to find the shortcomings and provide useful reference for the development of Shanxi contemporary literary.
