In 1986,Cao Naiqian published his first novel titled I and Shanyuan Monk in a magazine called Yun Gang.It was from this time Cao Naiqian entered the literary circle.In 1988,he published five articles of Wenjiayao Scenery in the magazine called Beijing Literature.Later,he wrote the novel again.In 1997,he formally finished the full-length novel titled Miss You Till Night(a series of Wenjiayao Scenery).The novel received a positive answer from famous literature writers and Nobel Prize judgers.This thesis plans to analyze this novel and Cao Naiqian's articles written during other periods in the literary circle of Shanxi Province.The author aims to discuss the role of Cao Naiqian in the literary circle which can clarify the significance and value of the writer in the literary circle of Shanxi Province.The introduction part of the thesis consists of some different sections,including the significance and purpose of the research,especially the current research situation of Cao Naiqian in the current academic circle.The author hopes to find out the blank of the genealogical study by summarizing the previous research.The text of the thesis consists of three chapters.The first chapter illustrates the realistic literature tradition of the “potato school ”mainly by describing the process from the “potato school” to Cao Naiqian as well as excellent realistic works in the “Jin Army”.Cao Naiqian,one of the writers in the “Post-Jin Army”,learned from this kind of literature spirit and stuck to the realism when he created his works.He wrote a series of local novels by applying the realistic style and unique perspective.Beside the local novel,he wrote some prosy articles based on the principle of the sincerity.Cao Naiqian finished his literature mission through two different literature styles,which makes him unable to be replaced.In the second chapter,the author has compared Cao Naiqian and other writers in the Shanxi literary pedigree.At first,the author has compared CaoNaiqian with Zhao Shuli and Li Rui who belongs to the “Jin Army” to find out the writing characteristics of Cao Naiqian through the horizontal comparison.The author has also discussed the achievements in novels acquired by Cao Naiqian after he gave up the “task-based” writing method to find out his writing characteristics of “weakening the historical background but focusing on the daily life”.Then,the author has compared Cao Naiqian with a latecomer named Wang Baozhong to highlight the characteristics of Yanbei writers and illustrate that the geographical features in Yanbei has provided him the creative ideas constantly.The third chapter focuses on the significance of Cao Naiqian's literature works on the development of the Shanxi literary pedigree.Cao Naiqian,as a part-time writer,has made a great success through his spare time writing,which indicates the openness and inclusiveness of the literature writing.His writing styles and creative awareness in writing his novels have provided useful reference for the literary circle.He always writes novels full of love and concern for people and focuses on the daily life of ordinary people.His sorrowful writing style and other-worldly allegorization writing have provided a spiritual guidance for the literary circle of Shanxi Province.
