In 1982, Wang Shiguang’s work"the song of the Yangtze River"became famous throughout the nation. Today, after 30 years, Wang Shiguang again splendidly creates the large-scale symphony "Symphony of the Yangtze River" to praise the magnificent scenery of the Yangtze River and our nation. At the same time, it is also a gift for the 58th birthday of our country.The core of this paper is to analyze the techniques of the works and the purpose of this paper is to find the national characteristics and epochal character of Chinese symphony.I will make a systematic and comprehensive exposition of the techniques of this work and conclude the uniqueness of Wang Shiguang’s thinking and technique.This thesis takes Wang Shiguang’s "Symphony of the Yangtze River" as an example, combines the traditional composing techniques and the modern composing techniques together:firstly, I will begin from the analysis and research of the musical structure and the harmony language of the four movements.
