The SPT Effect Of Three Elements Interactive Integration Mechanism In Action Memory

The Scene Integration Theory has put forward that the integration processing which was caused by operation is the key of the SPT advantage effect.At the same time, some researchers have presented that people,project and context are the essential elements of the integration processing.While The Scene Integration Theory has explored the processing mechanism of action memeory,it’s explanation is not detailed enough.This research will explore the integration processing mechanism of action memory furtherly through two experiments,which aim to explore operation how to influence the integration between the essential elements basing on The Scene Integration Theory.Experiment 1 uses 2 subject major(automobile,law) × 2 material type(automobile,law) × 2 encoding condition type(SPT,VT) mixed experiment design,including subject major and encoding condition type for the group variables,material type for the within group variables.Through simple statistical analysis for the recall scores and the recognition scores,subject major and material type are combined into a new variable named integration level between people and project.The memory scores of each subject for professional materials are defined as well-integrated level,the scores for non-professional materials are defined as poorly-integrated level.Through 2 integration level between people and project(well-integrated,poorly integrated) × 2 encoding condition type(SPT,VT) two-factor variance analysis,the results show that the memory scores for the well-integrated materials have a bigger improvement,so operation promote the integration between people and project.Experiment 2 uses 2 integration level between project and context(well-integrated,poorly integrated) × 2 encoding condition type(SPT,VT) mixed experiment design,including encoding condition type for the group variables, integration level between project and context for the within group variables.Tne experiment tries to explore operation how to influence the integration between project and context.The results show that the memory scores for the well-integrated materials have a bigger improvement,so operation promote the integration between project and context.The results prove the hypothesis that operation promote the integration between people and project,as well project and context.At the same time,the study verifies that the integration processing which was caused by operation is the key of the SPT advantage effect.In the last part,the study put forward that operation deepen memory traces through promoting the integration between the three elements,so that the interation between the three elements is the key to the integration processing of the SPT effect.
