Due to the characteristics of the Comprehensives classes of Chinese language for foreigner, the textbooks play a guiding role for students’ learning and teachers’ teaching. Which means it is very important for textbook editing. This paper is using the calculation in linguistics research method to establish the two textbook corpus, respectively is the “Advanced Chinese Intensive Reading Course” textbook database and the “Development of the Chinese” senior comprehensive textbook database. And then compares the two sets of textbooks base on the data through analyzed.The research is break down the following sections:1.Illustrates the purpose and significance of the topic; settle the research object and research methods. In order to introduction of research status.2.Describe the process of building the database for two sets of textbooks, and how to analysis and process the data.3. Compare the format and sequence difference when editing of the two textbooks. The same is both two textbooks has a preparation part right before the main body in every new chapter. The different parts are included number of new words and articles in each chapter and sequence of each lesson, exercises and glossary.4.Comparison of the articles in textbooks. The type of articles in these two textbooks both mainly is narrative. And for more specific, the “Advanced Chinese Intensive Reading Course” has less kinds of article than the “Development of the Chinese” even with supplements of sub-articles. And the “Development of the Chinese” also has more article themes.5.Compare the language knowledge of these two textbooks. About grammar, "Development of the Chinese" does not have detail explanation as much as “Advanced Chinese Intensive Reading Course”. But "Development of the Chinese" paid a lot attention to the how to teach grammar systematic, each chapter has similar number of grammar knowledge, and the book put these knowledge in order from easy to difficult to arrange in the text by following the principle of gradual improvement. And for rhetoric, figures of rhetoric involved in the articles are not complete for both textbooks, and there is no certain rhetoric in practice exercises in these two.6.The last part is the determination and comparison of difficulty about the two textbooks. By measured average sentence number, sentence length and the very words quantity per hundred words to determine the article degree of difficulty. And the result came to the two textbooks has very close article difficulty, but the "Development of the Chinese" has more average very word included in every 100 word than “Advanced Chinese Intensive Reading Course” since the "Development of the Chinese" are more open to adopt new words.Because of the different idea and time of compose, these two textbooks has totally different styles and their own features and positive points and negative points. Hoping this paper can provide some useful supplement and reference for the writing and editing the text of Chinese language for foreigner in new generation.
