Proposed by Britain scholar Richard Dawkins, inherited and developed by his student Blakemore, memetics is used to explain the law of culture evolution. With imitating as its theoretical core, memetics can be widely applied. This article will study on the spoken language teaching of Teaching Chinese as a second language from the perspective of memetics, and try to find scientific theoretical guidance and methodology for spoken language teaching, thus providing some help for improving students’ oral expression ability.This paper can be divided into six parts:The first part is introduction, introducing things like the research meaning, aim, objects and methods of the paper.The second part is the first chapter. It gives a general description of memes from the origin of the name, the concept, relevant terms, the formation and the reasons of language memes, etc.The third part is the second chapter. It mainly introduces the application of memetics in spoken language teaching of Teaching Chinese as a second language. In this part, this paper will analyze the existing problems in spoken language teaching, the relation between memetics and the teaching as well as the feasibility of application. The paper will also elaborate the application of memetics in primary, intermediate and advanced oral teaching by combining the characteristics of different stages.The forth part is chapter three. Based on the characteristics of spoken language teaching of different stages, the application of memetics in elementary, intermediate and advanced spoken language teaching is described.The fifth part is chapter four. This paper reflects on the oral teaching under the influence of memetics and gets some enlightenment from memetics.The sixth part is the conclusion, making a review and summary of the whole paper.
