Study On The Moral Thought Of Analects Of Confucius And Its Contemporary Value

As the Confucian classics of Chinese culture, it is the Analects of Confucius that involves exuberant and excellent ideological resources. The Confucian moral education thought is also the essence of ideological and cultural part. Thus researching to the Confucian moral education thoughts would necessarily be based on the Analects of Confucius itself. Then, the first point is to solve the doubts about the texts of Confucius Analects. Such as, the editor, written time and the meaning of title. Based on the collected information from predecessors, the conclusion is made after summarizing and dialectic analyzing: The Analects of Confucius, a quotation note transmitting to his disciples, is compiled gradually and collated into a book by Zeng Shen’s disciple finally. It can be summarized five perspectives from the text itself : kindness, righteousness, propriety,wisdom and trustworthiness. These thoughts and connotations conclude eight virtues: the phenomena of nature, gaining knowledge, uprightness, sincerity, self-cultivation, family harmony, country management and word peace,what is more, its meaning changes with the times. Apart from the ideological education thoughts, it is more important to explore how to use these thoughts to serve the present. Combined with nowadays society and global development, we can clearly see that these Confucian moral education thoughts can establish the value criterion for citizens, direct the value orientation for society, set up the value goal for countries and provide the coexistence for the world.According to the research topic, this paper mainly utilizes literature research method as well as dialectic induction method.(1) literature research method. From the start, we must have a deep understanding and analysis to the text itself because of the writing features-- classical Chinese. At the same time, it is necessary to consult the previous classic notation commentary in order to overcome the barriers of linguistic descriptions and revert the real meaning.(2) Dialectic induction method. According to the various background and times,the reading angles would be different, which means discussion and summary can not be ignored. And then we should dialectic ally analyze and sum up these based on abundant resources. Hence, we can know the truth, absorb the essence and discard the crude with the times.Researching to this area is very common, books in relation to the Analects of Confucius are enormous. However, researching to these area from five perspectives are scarce and rare. This paper focuses on analyzing the virtues of kindness, righteousness,propriety, wisdom and trustworthiness. Referring to the outline and achievements of socialist construction, combined with the progress and current situation of well-off society,this dissertation will demonstrate how to apply the five virtues to practice in today’s society.
