A Reflective Research Report On The C-E Translation Of Xinyang Housewares Industrial Base Project Introduction(Excerpt)

Entrusted by the Xinyang Housewares Industrial Base Project Committee, the author took part in a translation task of Xinyang Housewares Industrial Base introduction during 2015 and based on the translation of the source text the author finished this reflective research report. The goal of the translation project is to achieve a faithful transfer of message and style of the source text and also a attractive publication for the readership, so as to expand publicity of the Base. To realize these goals, the author devoted particular attention to the accuracy and faithfulness of the translation of Chinese characteristic words and phrases, for the fact that they account for a large proportion of the introduction’s contents and preciseness is the primary principle of the introduction contents because of its nature. The author also, based on the functional study of the source text, provided solutions to the difficulties at lexical and syntactic level with the help of some translation strategies and methods, such as word conversion, reverse translation and synthesization. The author believes that this report can provide some useful reference to the translators and researchers.
