Challenge And Difficulties That I Have Encountered During My Rehersal On My Concert Repertoire

My graduation concert was a summary of my 3 years of studies in the China Conservatory of Music. According to the conservatory’s graduation criteria, I was planning a graduation concert. After several discussions with my advisor, Professor Yang You-Qing, I designed a concert program that showcased standard professional repertoire with good stage effects, which was not only exciting but also adequate to the specific orchestra that I was planning to conduct. The concert was also presented with typical standards of setting, which have been observed by most of the symphony orchestras in the world. With effective rehearsal techniques acquired during my conservatory years, I tried my best to present my musical ability and to state the music ideas of the compositions. The orchestra has improved tremendously over the period of rehearsal time.My thesis is on how I effectively rehearsed the concert repertoire, using my knowledge of analysis and my experiences with orchestras to best express the musical styles of different repertoire. The thesis also includes how I tackled to the difficulties and the problems, which I had faced during my rehearsals, to produce a successful concert eventually.
