In the early 20 th century,when other composers tried some new composition techniques and broke the influence of late romanticism style,Béla Bartók found out a creative road with his unique tonality system and the development of folk music.The research on Bartók and his works had been begun in China in 1980 s.Most studies focus on Bartók ’s piano and chamber music works.Recent years,with the development of Chinese chorus,many excellent choirs no longer choose their performance style only on the renaissance wroks and classical works,but also challenge to put on some folk songs around the world or works that is atonality.That put Bartók’s choral works on Chinese music stage.This paper selects the choral suite "Four Slovak folk songs" which created in the middle of Bartok’s composing career as a typical example,explores how to understand and rehearse the performance of "Four Slovak folk songs" through the study of Bartok’s composition techniques and Slovak folk music style,so as to expand the style accumulation of chorus works and the understanding of music by Bartók.
