Compared with the general western literary theory or anthology, the compile literary theory or anthology is a common way to introduce western literary theory. There are nearly 20000 words in thirty “editor’s note” appear to have a unique style in The Corpus of The New Criticism, which compiled by a famous literary theorist named Mr. Zhao Yiheng in the1980 s. Looking at the process of the New Criticism of China in the past thirty years, the “editor’s note” of Mr. Zhao Yiheng is crucial to the study, use, and even re-review of New Criticism. Because it shared the complex role of “benchmark” and “target”, we said that there is a New Criticism of China’s Zhao Yiheng direction since the new period. Taking the “editor’s note” as the research object, we systematic review and deeply analyze the “editor’s note” content, and compared with the New Criticism in the original context, and then tracing the situation of it in the context of China for more than thirty years, this is not only conducive to the academic review and objective evaluation “editor’s note” merits, but also provide some useful experience for the anthology compilation work for the process of western literary theory in China, therefore, it effectively promote the China process of western literary theory. The introduction partreviewed the evaluation leads of academic to the view of “editor’s note”, it vaguely presents the complex role of “editor’s note” at the same time as the “benchmark” and “target”. By comparing the “editor’s note” and the “New Criticism”, this part presents the same between the two in the aspects of the logical structure, compiling proportion and interpretation of intention. The second chapter, we analyze three cases of the conservation and variation that New Criticism to the “editor’s note”. Firstly, in the aspect of the rheological stage, the dialectical composition of the works and the concept of irony of New Criticism, “editor’s note” are all authentic interpretation of its significance; Secondly, “editor’s note” keeps a good grasp of the degree of conservation to the translation and interpretation of “meaning”; Thirdly, in the case of the relationship between the works and the writers, the readers and the world, and the theory and practice of the New Criticism, the discourse of the “editor’s note” appears to “variation” to much, which is the focus of our analysis and clarification. The three chapter summarizes a lot of inspiration that “editor’s note” to the anthology compilation in the process of western literary theory of China. The compiler should handle the relationship of “keeping change” as much as possible when introducing the already stereotyped theoretical factions. Firstly, Comprehensively reduction the difference and connection between western literary theories and schools,on the basic of common problems belonging to literary factions should be strictly authentic, the compiler should be cautious when recommending; Secondly, flexible handling the integrity of the individual ideas and schools claim; Thirdly, using dialectical view of the complex relationship between theoretical interpretation and critical practice;Fourthly,if there is a core term which has a greater degree of agreement with the Chinese classical literary theory, try a combination of Chinese and western translation method, take the opportunity to “revive” the outstanding factors of Chinese classical literary theory, and realize a positive transition from “the western literary theory of China” to “critical theory of the contemporary”;...
