Shen Hongying And Guangdong Politic Situation In The Early Years Of The Republic Of China (from 1913 To 1925)

Shen Hongying (1870-1938), was an character of the warlords in Beiyang Period. Shen Hongying born in guangdong EnPing hakka family.But because of the Hakka-Punti wars, his mother moved to Guangxi Muliangcun in Rongxian County. In the revolution of 1911,he get Liu Guxiang’s guidance and help in his road because of his alert. Shen Hongying went on a path to the revolution. In the Republic-Defendence War Lu Rongtign promote Shen Hongying. Shen went on a path to the warlords. Later Shen was passed as right-hand man in the so-called "Lu Rongting’s era", making rapid advances in his career. In Guangdong Province he rised directly to a high position, the first commander for Long Jiguang battle, the commander Qinlian and QiongYa and other important position. And then he entered into the center of power step by step. While the cooperation and conflict between Shen Hongying and Sun Zhongshan in Guangdong is the focus of this paper. In December 25th, Shen Hongying participated in the "white horse alliance" which was an Military Council accepted the mission from Sun Yat-sen, held by generals of Dian Gui Army.They discussed the Chen Jiongming’s rebellion and laid the foundation to defeat Chen Jiongming’s Army. In 1923 January 20th, Shen Hongying launched Jiangfang conference incident He attempt to occupy Guangdong province to realize his dream of "king of Guangdong" via this incident which ended in failure and surrendered to Sun Yet-sen. From the beginning of February 1923, around the problem of Guangdong Du Li, Shen Hongying moved in the Beijing government and Sun Yet-sen. During this time,he has been repeatedly. Until 1925,he was rooted out by the New Guangxi Army, then fled to Hongkong and spend the rest of his life. Shen Hongying and Sun Zhongshan have many exchanges in Guangdong Province. The two people suffered a setback which resulting in Sun Yet-sen’s revolutionary cause. As a leading force in Guangzhou, The Guangxi Army participated in many political wresting which has regional and national influence political struggle influence, largely influenced by the political parties,such as established the military academy.This study on the basis of previous studies, from the collection, sorting newspapers, archives, memoirs, essays and other correspondence to historical data with the method of combining with the history and logic to learn about Shen Hongying,to understand the political situation in Guangdong during the period of Republic of China.
