Study On Yang Shixiu’s Origin Of Sphragisticsand His Thoughts

Sphragistics originates from Yuan Dynasty, ripens in Ming Dynasty and develops in Qing Dynasty. This paper takes the Origin of Sphragistics as the subject, which is the representative one written by Yang Shixiu. It offers historical facts about Mr. Yang’s life and his activities based on the present references at the stage of history in late Qing Dynasty. The key point of the essay is to have a scrupulous study on his thought stated in the the Origin of Sphragistics and the deep influence in history about his work.The thesis mainly consists of three parts: the first part of Sphragistics time background. The second parts studies on Yang Shixiu and the literature review on Sphragistics. In the third part, the thesis wholly shows the thought and academic value of the Origin of Sphragistics to make comments on his achievement as objective as possible. Meanwhile, the whole passage is organized by the clue of the people engaged in sphragistic and their contemporary culture so as to show their humanistic emotion and cultural styles and features.
