The Research On Sphragistics Of Chen Lian

Chen Lian is an important seal engraver and theoretician in Qianjia period,His printed genealogy and printed works are of great literature value.Chen Lian print making pays attention to the natural taste,the knife method is steady and old,broad-minded,in seal cutting style he is in the pursuit of simple and mellow style.This paper stuies the sphragistics of Chen Lian from four aspects.In the first part of this paper,we start with Chen Lian's works on printing,and draw a conclusion that there are two main reasons for Chen Lian's genealogy to be published,that is,friend invitation and self-collection,and that the editions are spread in order.The second part takes Chen Lian Yinshuo as the research subject,and excavates his impressionist thought.On the basis of Qin and Han printing,at the same time,he also studied Yuan and Ming printing.On the concept of creation,Chen Lian advocates that the copying of the seal should take its charm and border rules of the seal,and advocate that the rule of printing should be based on nature.In the relationship between seal and printer,Chen Lian believes that seal can cultivate temperament,seal and printer complement each other.In the third part,according to the records of Chen's four genealogy and other related documents,the author draws the conclusion that the three stages of Chen's seal cutting method are as follows: the beginning of the seal cutting of Zhu Jian in the Ming Dynasty,the introduction of the seal cutting of Zhu Jian in Ming Dynasty,and the comparison with the seal of the past dynasties.Then chase the Qin and Han dynasties,finally,under the benchmark of the Han printing,extensively dabble in the Yuan,Ming good seals,summed up the characteristics of Chen Lian seal cutting art as follows: white text seal is flat and solemn,red text seal is strong and concise.The fourth part objectively evaluates the enlightenment of Chen Lian's seal cutting art to later generations,The seal cutting had a certain social status at then time,but little is known about it by current industry due to the lack of artistic personality of seal cutting.Through the above research,there is a more in-depth and comprehensive understanding of Chen Lian printing study.
