With the rapid development of science and technology and the speeding-up of globalization, popular science books have been playing increasingly important role in sci-tech communication. In order to maximize the dissemination of scientific information, the translation of popular science books should be in accord with target readers in logic and expressions, which is often unfortunately ignored by many translators who have been mainly attaching much more importance to semantic meaning of the original text. This report will mainly discuss how to analyze and understand the logic relations, especially the implicit logic relations, of the original text of popular science books and how to express them in the target language. This translation report is based on the science book—Tomorrowland: Our Journey from Science Fiction to Science Fact by Steven Kotler. By analyzing the translation and representative cases, this report explores the main forms of implicit logic relations and their corresponding translation methods. And the exact and true judgment for the main forms of the implicit logic relations will be greatly beneficial to the efficiency and quality of translation. At the same time, the phenomena of ambiguous meaning, mistranslation and translationese could be ignored to some extent. In order to make the explicit logic relations clear for target readers and the expressions much more fluent and natural, this report has explored the main forms of the implicit logic relations based on the proper judgment and analysis for the implicit logic relations of the original text, and used the appropriate translation methods to make the implicit explicit.
