As the development of internet technology, an increasing number of universities tend to attach great importance on the construction of an English-version web page. Qufu Normal University is badly in need of an English web page, which will show the image of the university and provide a platform for the communication between the university and society. What is more,with the increasingly frequent international communication, the English-version web page will make the communication among international universities more convenient. At present, there being not an English-version web page for Qufu Normal University, the author of this report, as a member of this University, wants to make some contribution to the University by attempting to turn into English the main parts of the web page of the University, endeavoring to deal with the relevant difficulties to be encountered during the translation in accordance with Functional Equivalence Theory.The author of this translation report first makes a brief description and analysis of the background, significance and target reader of the task, and then describes the translation process,which includes the preparation before translation, translation and post-translation proofreading.Secondly, the author carries out a case analysis, which is the key part of this report, where the difficulties of proper nouns, attributives and long sentences encountered in the process of translation are analyzed in light of Functional Equivalence Theory. Lastly, in the conclusion part the author makes a summary of this translation report, and points out the gains and shortcomings of the translation practice.Through this translation practice, the author mainly gets the following gains: Firstly,Functional Equivalence Theory has the important implication for web page translation practice and research as follows; Secondly, the university web page translation has both the features of general web page translation such as concise language and rich content, and its own features typical of the translation of higher institutions web page, where there are a lot of professional terms related to higher education and relevant specialties, and the author needs to provide their equivalent English counterparts in the translation process; Lastly, in the process of web page translation, the translator needs to take a careful attitude so as to provide high quality translation.And through this translation practice, the author improves her ability of translation and provides some reference for web page translation in the future.
