Chinese And Western Old-fashioned Posters Under The Cross-culture Vision

In the different time-space and cultural backgrounds of Chinese and western old-fashioned posters, their art styles involve bright identities and differences. Based on the vision of Chinese and western cultural art, this paper analyzes and studies of old-fashioned posters at the end of the 19th century. With the research on the contrasts between the calendars of Hang Zhiying and the pictorial posters by Alphonse Maria Mucha, explores the differences and similarities between Chinese old-fashioned posters and western old-fashioned poctorial posters in art style and other aspects, so as to learn the effects and function of Chinese and western old-fashioned poster art style on contemporary poster design.Based on the thinking like this, firstly, it elaborates the importance under the cross-culture views, the typicality and effects of Mucha and Hang Zhiying’s works; besides, it explores the differences and similarities between Chinese and western old-fashioned posters, conducts the contrast research on subject format, figure style, color processing, schema ornament, format composition and frame form; Finally, it discusses the inheritance of Chinese traditional culture and the reference and absorption of western old-fashioned poster designing culture displayed by the design of old-fashioned posters during the period from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, mainly starts from ideas and designing schema, discards the dross and selects the essence, provides the advice and assistance to the design and development of contemporary posters.The old-fashioned poster is a kind of spirits and culture, the root of the production and development of Hang Zhiying and Mucha’s unique art types will make the extremely important enlightenment significance to our contemporary design. This paper mainly adopts the method of conclusion and contrast, combines the empirical confirmation to conduct the exploration and research it can do on the evolution and innovation of Chinese and western old-fashioned poster until today.
