The Study On The Vocabulary Development In Huozhou Dialect From The Perspective Of Language Contact

Sociolinguistics believes language is ordered heterogeneous. With the highly developed network and media in today’s society, language contact happens everywhere. As the main cause of language development, language contact has become the focused research in sociolinguistics, and also becomes one of the important topics of the study of heterogeneous language to sought for order.With mandarin being vigorously promoted in China, it has become a widespread phenomenon for the contact of mandarin and dialects. Huozhou dialect has being contacted increasingly and frequently with mandarin and it is undergoing significant changes. It applies the methods of sociolinguistics in this paper from the perspective of language contact to studies vocabulary developments of Huozhou dialect.The author is a native of Huozhou locals. Making Huozhou dialect as the research object, this paper has used the research method of sociolinguistics, combined historical data with field investigation. From the perspective of “diachronic” and “synchronic”, it has made a comprehensive study on the vocabulary developmemts of Huozhou dialect. We may get the using status of Huozhou dialect and the development regulation of Huozhou dialect vocabularies, as well as the factors which result in the changes of Huozhou dialect vocabularies. We may get a better understanding of the development of Huozhou dialect in the future.This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction.Respectively it introduces the research background of this study, the research purpose and significance, and research methods. The second chapter is an overview on Huozhou and Huozhou dialect. It was respectively introduced about Huozhou geography, history,population distribution, the usage of Huozhou dialect and Huozhou dialect belongs. The third chapter is the investigation of the Huozhou dialect vocabulary. First of all, it was a internal comparison about Huozhou dialect vocabulary from the perspective of “diachronic” combined with literature data and field investigation. And then Huozhou dialect using status is concluded. Secondly, from the perspective of “synchronic”, Huozhou dialect was compared with mandarin, and it was found the regulation of its development. The fourth chapter is the investigation and analysis of the influence factors of vocabulary development in Huozhou dialect. Using the statistical software SPSS, and with spearman rank correlation analyse the impact of age, school education, occupation, the differences between town and country,gender and other factors on Huozhou dialect vocabulary. The fifth chapter is investigation of language attitude and language usages. This investigation is to get how they influence Huozhou dialect.
