The Study Of Uyghur Translation Of The “Thirty-six Stratagems” Idioms

In today’s world, with the popularity and penetration of informatization, interpersonal communication is becoming increasingly closer and so is the communication between different nations. It goes without saying the importance of translation that it acts as a vital mean of communication between different ethnic groups. As a postgraduate who majors in the theory and practice of translation, I am quite interested in using the knowledge I have learnt to promote ethnic communication and unity. The author consulted relevant information and found that there had not been any writing which had complete and accurate record for the translation in to Uyghur of idioms for“Thirty-Six Stratagems" and there was no sufficient related study which will result in not benefitting the ethnic cultural exchange and learning.This article analyzed and summarized the methods and characteristic of translation in to Uyghur of idioms for "Thirty-Six Stratagems" by means of modern translation theory and through example analysis. In the meanwhile, problems appeared in the process of translations in to Uyghur were discussed, thus putting forward the corresponding solution. This article is formed by five parts: the first part is the introduction which expounds the research purpose and the significance of this article, current research status of related papers and the research methods. The second part mainly introduces the historical background and the main content of "Thirty-Six Stratagems", also analyzes its characteristics. The third part initially describes the situation of translation in to Uyghur of idioms for "Thirty-Six Stratagems", then it is followed by the translation method during the process of translation in to Uyghur. Finally, it introduces the characteristics of translation in to Uyghur of idioms for "Thirty-Six Stratagems". The fourth part mainly focuses on discussing the problems appeared in the process of translation in to Uyghur of idioms for "Thirty-Six Stratagems" and the reason analysis. Besides, corresponding solutions are worked out according to the problems. The last part is the conclusion which emphasizes the review and summary to the preceding part of the text.The idiom "Thirty-Six Stratagems" is a great collection of ancient art in war strategy and it has certain guiding significance in our daily life. It is not only the high compact of ancient sages wisdom, but more the concentration of broad and profound Chinese culture. Knowing about them means a great step towards learning about traditional Chinese culture. Therefore, this study sets the translation in to Uyghur of idioms for "Thirty-Six Stratagems" as the research subject which are to be analyzed and discussed. It is expected that this study could potentially help with the record and retranslation of translation in to Uyghur of idioms for "Thirty-Six Stratagems". Hopefully, it is also expected that this study would do all it can to strengthen national unity and communication.
