| Handel, a prominent composer of the Baroque Period, created a great number of vocal music works. He also made great contributions to the development of vocal music. Messiah is the most representative oratorio work of him. It is also one of the masterpieces of vocal music genre in the Baroque Period. This paper analyzes the two most famous tenor arias in Messiah. Base on researches and practice singing, I thought thoroughly about the correct usage of some singing techniques and how to present the unique characteristics of the work during performance. By analyzing one work in detail, I can not only improve my professional skills, but also broaden the artistic vision to get better perspectives on such type of work in the future. |
