Phonetics’s physiological characteristics has became an indispensable part of Phonetics research. With the social progress and economic decelopment increasingly physiological instruments are used in Phonetics research, thus the PAS is one of them.PAS is the abbreviariong of Phonatory Aerodynamic System, which is mainly used for air folw and air pressure phonetics research. This study focuses on using the PAS to analyze Mongolian standard vowel. This paper is composed of introduction, main part and conclusion. The introduction section introduces the general research situation of Mongolian experimental phonerics, the use of PAS airflow barometer of Mongolian research present situation and the selected topic significance. The text consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, compares the six group datas of the Mongolian standard short vowel airflow and analyzes the CV syllable’s vowel airflow and the VC syllable’s vowel airflow. In the second chapter, studies for the airflow of Mongolian standard long vowel and compares the long vowel’s airflow with mounth opening, the short vowel’s airflow and the long vowel’s airflow respectively. In the third chapter, compares diphthong’s airflow with long vowel’s airflow. At last, there are conculsions of this research. The results are as follows.Firstly, by comparing the CV syllable with VC syllable, the short vowel’s airfow of the VC syllable is bigger than the CV syllable.Secondly, the long vowel’s airflow in inverse proportion of the mouth opening.Thirdly, the diphthong is closely associated with long vowel.Fourthly, short vowel, long vowel and diphthong had the common of the airlow features that EAD is in inverse proportion of the PEA. Shows the expectation of the study of Mongolian airflow and pressure field and the problems existed in this field, as well as the prospect for future research.
