The Satisfaction Level Of Undergraduate Thailand Students’ Toward Chinese Education In Local University

Roi Et Rajabhat University, located in Wang Yi (Roiet) province, the North Eastern of Thailand, first opened in 1998 as a community college. The university’s goal is to develop knowledge and improve students’ educational level. It gives students who live in small city an opportunity to pursue higher education.In Roi Et Rajabhat University, Bachelor of Arts Program in Chinese was founded in 2007. The topic about the student satisfaction toward Chinese education in Roi Et Rajabhat University is very fascinated topic to study. This study will not only support Chinese education development in the sample university but it is possible to be applied with every university in Thailand especially for local university. The study indicated what the motivation of students toward Chinese education is. The Chinese education satisfaction of Chinese learner could be noticed by the happiness of the sample group. Chinese learners who are satisfied with Chinese class have more happiness comparing the opposite group who are less satisfied.The data collection comes from the survey of undergraduate students in Roi Et Rajabhat University by questionnaires and interview. The survey was conducted to collect data about how the sample group feels with the Chinese class, the individual’s feeling and the support of university toward Chinese education. This is to analyze the satisfaction toward Chinese study of the sample students and listen to every suggestion toward Chinese education in the university. The survey result of the satisfaction of students toward Chinese class was displayed in statistics table. This survey showed that the 3rd year students had the lowest level of satisfaction toward Chinese class while the 1st year student had the highest of satisfaction level. Most of students were satisfied with the lecturers and the university; however, the researcher found that there are many good suggestions to develop Chinese education in class room referred to the completed questionnaire from the sample group. The survey also discovered that the unsatisfactory also comes from the opinion of the group of sample students. They sometimes disappointed with their Chinese skill and this comes from their high expectations over Chinese course. The questionnaire showed that the book borrowing of students was not popular among Chinese students. This might reflects the Chinese satisfaction of the students also. Obviously, it is the big role of the university to develop the library to be more interesting. This will enhance Chinese satisfaction for students. This thesis was composed of 4 chapters as below:The first chapter is to describe the origin, the importance and the purposes of the research. It was found that there was almost no study about Chinese education satisfaction before. So, there is the description of the specialty of this thesis.The second chapter indicated the data collection method of this thesis. There were both quantitative questionnaires and qualitative questionnaires. Every questionnaire was designed for the specific purpose. The questionnaires were distributed to undergraduate students in Roi Et Rajabhat University. The completed questionnaires were gathered and recorded as statistic data.The third chapter was the analyzed part. The statistical data gathered from questionnaires will be brought to analyzed process. This research discovered that the fourth year students had the less satisfaction while the first year students had the most satisfaction toward Chinese study in the university.The fourth chapter was the end result of the research. This chapter gave the suggestion to the Chinese instructor, students and the university about how to increase satisfaction in Chinese study which will bring about maximum benefit to the students.
