A Project Report On The Gumnut Land Adventures From The Perspective Of The Skopos Theory (Excerpts)

This is a translation report for The Gumnut Land Adventures, which is a children book written by Australian famous children’s author and illustrator May Gibbs. The Gumnut Land Adventures is a story about a black dog called Scotty and his adventures. As it is a fascinating story with vivid language and optimistic theme, the translation report is thus based on The Gumnut Land Adventures and adopts different translation strategies to get a better version under the guidance of Skopos theoryThe report starts from the background of this project in which it gives a brief introduction of its source, significance and structure. After the analysis of the original text, the report gives a summarization of its author, language style and main plot. The quality control makes a list of the theory applied in the translation, the key and difficult points and their possible solutions. The last part makes a summary of the translation experience and lessons. Under the guidance of Skopos theory put forward and further developed by Hans J.
