Dissertation is the dominating form to assess synthesized qualities and evaluate ultimate achievements in colleges and universities. It is a critical curriculum for realizing talent training goal and also an important norm in assessing teaching lever. Recently, with the changing social demand for talent, the types of colleges and universities and disciplines are refining. As far as the type of colleges and universities, initially dominated by research-oriented colleges and universities, then convert to the combination of research and application type, lately application-oriented type is encouraged. The same has happened to a clear division of the research and application discipline. Faced with these changes, graduation dissertation has not been transformed correspondingly, which leads to an overwhelming critics and suspects for its still traditional pattern. In this context, study on graduation dissertation(design) reform has important theoretical and practical significance.The individualized cultivation mode in colleges and universities is quite different from that in vocational colleges, equally to the various research directions in one discipline. Thus the evaluation form should be individualized and diversified. Till now, researchers have made a lot progress in reforming evaluation form according to the type of colleges and its disciplines. Based on the theory of competence-based evaluation, multiple intelligence and self-efficacy, we propose the exhibition report as the evaluation form in the applied English major(educational branch) of vocational colleges.This study takes Xiang Xi Vocational and Technological College as a case, collects 121 graduation dissertations using quantitative content analysis of dissertation topics and qualitative content analysis of dissertation qualities. Meanwhile, using a questionnaire to the 14 full-time professional teachers conducts a questionnaire survey from assessment goal, content and implementation in three areas specifically narrated the reasons of effects on dissertation topics and qualities. Through two surveys, we’ve found issues focused on three aspects assessment objectives, content and implementation, and found the cause of the problem. On the specific grasping of individualized cultivation goal of vocational colleges, requirements from cooperative company, professional curriculum arrangement, basic capacity of being a qualified primary English teacher, we’ve proposed four definite modes of exhibition report: classroom teaching, kids’ English drama, kids’ English novel, kids’ English singing and dancing. Individualized criterion has made according to their own relative theory. In order to implement effectively, we have put forward safeguard measures in factors of curriculum, teacher and students.
