New Version About Yue Opera <Zhi Nv And Nu Lang> And The Explanation Of It

The legend of "Niu Lang and Zhi Nv" is one of the four most famous love stories in China and the origin of the story can be tracked back to slavery society. After starting at Qin and Han dynasty, the story developed a lot between Wei Jin and Yuan dynasty. However, the most important development of "Niu Lang and Zhi Nv" was during Ming and Qing dynasty. In recent decades, it became more and more complex with the extinction of feudality. There are thousands of different literary works about "Niu Lang and Zhi Nv" in history and many differences between each other.This essay researched and adapted Yue Opera <Niu Lang and Zhi Nv> by combining the development of the legend of "Niu Lang and Zhi Nv" and different expressions in opera stage. The script of " Niu Lang and Zhi Nv " started from the scenario of the married life of Niu Lang and Zhi Nv. They found the meaning of love after experiencing conflicts and difficulties. This essay reconstructed the roles of Niu Lang. Zhi Nv and Wang Mu and made them closer to normal life by adding modern elements into these traditional roles. Meanwhile, some new roles like Zhang Mazi, Xiaoyao Yuanshuai and Baixulaoxian made the storyline more reasonable and humorous. This adaption of "Niu Lang and Zhi Nv" was aimed to break the tradition and create a new style of this famous love story. Furthermore, this essay was trying to deliver the concept of modern love and make more people learn to cherish the happiness of love.
