With society shifting from acquaintance society to stranger society, the acquaintance ethics can no longer effectively function as regulation principles while stranger ethics has yet to be established. At the same time with the impact of market economy, some immoral phenomena have appeared in the moral field, causing moral anxiety. Kept within a moderate range, moral anxiety can work positively on people, such as setting them to moral reflection and arousing their moral behavior. However, once it breaks through the moderate scope and persists for a long time, it can lead to destructive results. In the ethical relationships between strangers, moral anxiety has become a major problem which seriously troubles people’s lives.Based on the findings of the researchs on moral anxiety both home and abroad, and guilded by the basic principles of Marxist ethics and ideological and political education, this thesis deals with the severe moral anxiety existing against the backdrop of the ethical relationships in the society of strangers. Through analyzing the impacts of market economy, the change of social structure, the absence of stranger ethics and the conflicts between ethical values, this thesis tries to put forward some strategies and suggestions to perfect a fair and just ethical system, to innovate moral education and to improve personal moral qualities so that people can cope with moral anxiety.
