Simple And Blazing—American Contemporary Painting Planarity Tendency And My Creation

In this paper, firstly it determined a concise definition for the "Contemporary painting", by accounting the historical development of the "American Contemporary painting":from the birth of the late 40s abstract expressionism to the 60s which with the Pop art roaring across the horizon,then to the 80s which with the post-modernism appears.it illustrated the derivation source and extension venation of the "American Contemporary painting". Secondly, it explained the conception of the Planarity painting characteristics, by analyzing the works of Roy Lichtenstein(1923-1997)and Alex Katz(1927-2009) who were the two typical painter in American of the day. Elaborated the planarity tendency of the "American Contemporary painting".Lastly,it analyzed the Planarity factors that absorbed in the author’s creation.By converting creation resource into the production and presenting the subject emotional of the production,it represented how dose the planarity tendency of American Contemporary figurative painting affect the author’s painting creation.
