Painting as a plane visual art form,it has to solve two problems after all, both thepainting plane and the visual space. As for figurative painting, the objects of painting allare objective facts. Then these two problems are transformed into the two-dimensionalplane of painting and the three-dimensional problem of the real object. The traditional Chinese painting "Bai miao" that means line drawing in traditional ink and brush stylevividly to describe objects. On the contrary, the western classical painting always paint theobjective object that people see in three dimensions via perspective, anatomy, light andother means. However, the photographic technology development has affected painting, and modern painting has begun to look for new ways to develop. And the "planarity" ofpainting has chugged back into view.In the figurative painting, the shaping method ofform compression satisfies both the painting reflection on the plane itself andthree-dimension visual effect. So figurative Painting always attracts viewers' attention withunique visual effects.Nevertheless, molding method of form compression is not only found in modern painting, but in many paintings of the early Renaissance. Therefore, toanalyze molding method of form compression is of great significance for studying theplanar tendency in figurative Painting.
