Study On Archives-establishing For Protection Of The Miao Folklore

With the deeper protection work of traditional culture in China, more and more people begin to pay attention to the protection of ethnic folklore, and have discussion on the methods and ways of ethnic folklore’s protection. As one of important protections, archives-establishing has been mentioned and discussed in academic circles to a certain extent these years. The Miao people are one of the most ancient minority groups in China. They create colorful folklore culture, which becomes an essential part of multi-culture in this country. Due to complex reasons in history, the Miao have no native written languages to record their history. However, the folklore has been carrying profound historical memory and culture of their nation. Studying archives-establishing for protection of the Miao folklore will not only benefits the Miao’s folk culture inheritance and their social memory construct but also favors to assisting local government’s executive decision and advancing economic and social developments, as well as enriching archives’collection resources and changing archives’development.Archives-establishing for protection of the Miao folklore includes not only Miao folk culture’s recognition, filing, and folklore archives’collection and sorting to build up an ordered Miao folklore archive recourse system, but also Miao folklore archives’ optimal management, exploitation and utilization. This paper consists of five parts. The first part is introduction, which includes study background, study significance, a review of the former study results, study contents, study methods and some innovation. The second part is an overview of some related concepts, and defines the concepts of folklore, the Miao folklore, archives-establishing for protection and archives-establishing for protection of the Miao folklore. Then, this section pointes out the significance in some ways. The third part deals with the current situation of establishing the Miao folklore archives from five aspects, that is, laws and policies, archives-establishing subject, existing standard criteria, the results obtained, the exploitation and utilization of Miao folklore archives. The fourth part points out some issues in current archives-establishing work such as policy from many doors, segmentation, being kept by many people, miscellaneous standard, subject absence, archives-establishing bias, profit-driven, destructive utilization, information network, digitization, diversification. And then, this section analyzes related reasons from four aspects, including the particularity of Miao folklore archives-establishing work, economic and social development in the Miao region, laws and regulations, standard criteria and social forces. The fifth part makes some considerations and provides some countermeasures about the Miao folklore archives-establishing from five angles, which includes archives-establishing subject, basic work, legalization, standardization, information, and the relationship between the Miao folklore archives-establishing and regional economic and social development.
