The Study On Musical Research Of Novel Narration

Standing in the position of broadly-defined art, the aim of this paper is to use the mode of thinking——cross-arts, combing the synchronic and diachronic characteristics of literature and music, grasping the family resemblance between them as they are important members of the big family of art, so as to break through the old topic of the similarities and differences between the categories of art,in the meantime, using a new way of thinking to seek the possibility of mutual reference and integration between them. Not all grafting can produce good fruit, through the concrete analysis of the two fusion methods, it carries on the objective criticism to the damage on artistic charm which it caused by counterpoint-fusion, especially on the damage of literature, so as to exclude the possibility that literature, especially fiction, is bound up with music as an independent art category. At the same time, drawing inspiration form the perfect absorption of music elements by the Chinese classical poetry, and to explore a new road called reference fusion, for the possibility of the novel to add the wings of music.Then, this paper take narration as the basic architecture of novels, take rhythm-melody-musical form as the center axes of elements of music, progressively erected the basic framework of the musical narration of novels. This paper not only has theoretical analysis, but also pay attention to the presentation of the perceptual experience, make the perfect combination of the perceptual experience and the theory of art,take the musical research of Haruki Murakami’s novels as an example, from the shallow and deep level, apply the theoretical framework of rhythm-melody-musical form to text analysis. And fully showing the absorption of musical elements, reference for Murakami’s novels bring great positive significance, and finally elucidate the profound meaning of music study of narration. Fully show the absorption and reference of music elements, do have great positive significance on Haruki’s Novels,and finally clarify the significance of the study on musical research of novel narration.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter starts from definition of art, exploring whether different artistic styles have common essence or deep consistency or not, and use the theory of family resemblance to summarize the overlapping relationship between them. In the complex relationship, literature and music are two family members which have close relationship, their common research can divided into two aspects——synchronic research and diachronic research.Under the premise of grasping the common relationship between literature and music, the second chapter explore the specific form of fusion, though the analysis of their unhappy marriage by merging as independent arts, excluding the way of the combination of literature and music, especially of novel and music. And finally take the Chinese poetry as great example, leading to a unique way called reference fusion as the way novel integrating musical elements.The third chapter take prose and narration as the basic properties of the novel, respectively, from the double dimension of narrative structure——"story" and "discourse"——to start to establish the basic framework which takes rhythm, melody, musical form as core axes, which music is the core of the narrative studies——This is the core content of the study of the narration of novels.The fourth chapter takes Haruki Murakami’s novels as the example of the reference fusion of the novel to the music, based on the combination of perceptual experience and rational analysis, and start from the specific text, apply the theory which is proposed above to the novel appreciation. To extract shallow and deep musical element of Murakami novels through detailed text interpretation, especially in accordance with the "narrative rhythm and musical rhythm", "narrative clue and melody", "narrative mode and musical form",advance layer by layer and focus on the analysis of deep musical element. So as to show whole musical style of Murakami’s novel, and thus serve as a model of visually presented the positive significance of the novel absorbing music elements.The conclusion part analyzes from the points of view of theoretical significance and practical significance respectively to show the positive significance of study of novel narration. The practical significance can be analyzed from two aspects——its positive influence on literary creation and literary appreciation.
