Historical period, two huai area’s water transportation conditions provide the conditions for the rise of Qingjiangpu. Qingjiangpu River was dug to lay a favorable traffic situation in Qingjiangpu, which decided on its North-South transport plays a decisive role. People flows, gather here, commercial prosperity began to form and development of Qingjiangpu city, In the Ming and Qing dynasty, the prosperity of water transport promote the prosperity of the city. In modern times, the River, and water transport is also increasingly unsustainable, Qingjiangpu has begun to decline. After the rise of the railway, on the proposal of railway in Qingjiangpu has long been proposed, but due to various reasons, Qingjiangpu eventually missed the railway, missed by virtue of modern railway transportation this opportunity to rise again. Since then, reconstruction of the railway as the center of modern Jiangsu traffic pattern, Qingjiangpu has lost its original location advantage. Regional centre of economic gravity from the transferred to the railway line along the Canal, Which accelerated the decline of Qingjiangpu. Throughout the process of the development of Qingjiangpu, traffic factors have always played an important role.
