Transportation has been becoming the pivotal element which influences the development of cities and the quality of people’s daily life. Along with more and more country giving attention to it,the current developing cities turn to focus on the underground space from the high-rise.The human behavior in metro can be divided into three classes of functional, social, spontaneous. Different kinds of behavior determines the requirements of spatial orientation. For underground space, the overall impression of people, not just stay on the visual and text level, also by understanding the abstractness of the perceived cultural information in their waiting process. Therefore, designers should grasp the principles and strategies of oriented design which is the most important content of subway station public space.Fortunately,I developed the investigation to four European city : Munich, Stockholm,Prague, Naples, and collected data and factor analysis.Respectively from the lighting, art, material, color to explore the spatial orientation in the public space design. After returning,I Combined these practical experience with subway public space of Suzhou and found the trademark issues, Then gave some reasonable proposal and solutions.Subway is the same as the city streets which carrying the spirit of a city, is also a complex of culture and art, technology, information technology, ecological elements and other elements. This paper hope that we can learn the experience and lessons from developed countries, improve the shortage of the existing public space guiding function, and play a positive role in improving the city image.
