A Practice Report On The Business Liaison Interpreting For Guilin BanDao ELE TEC Co. Ltd With Sweden Signcut Company

During the cultural exchange activities, except for some formal meetings which require the services of consecutive interpreting or simultaneous interpreting, a growing large number of excellent liaison interpreters are needed to help two sides who speak different languages communicate successfully. This paper conducts a detailed analysis of a English to Chinese liaison interpreting in the business conference of Guilin BanDao ELE TEC Co. Ltd and Signcut Company from July 3rd to July 6th. The interpreting objects of this task are managers of the Guilin BanDao ELE TEC Co. Ltd. This liaison interpreting task features long time working and business secret. Therefore, this paper mainly analyzes liaison interpreting in conference, tourism excluding the part of business secret.This paper consists of four parts. The first chapter of this paper features the task description, provides a general picture of the background, objects, the purpose and the main introduction of this interpreting task. The second chapter describes the preparation and process of the interpreting task. The third chapter focuses on case study. The Liaison Interpreting of Conference mainly analyzes the lack of interpreting preparation effect the process of communication and unexpected situation in the meeting. The writer summarizes a few major mistakes, such as missing contents, translation errors, long-term intervenes, hesitation, etc. The Liaison Interpreting of Sightseeing conducts case study in difficulties of tourist site interpreting and interpreter’s psychology during the visit of Guilin botanical garden. The fourth chapter is the brief review of the whole report, specifically useful experiences for future interpreting career.
