| At present, both domestic and foreign researches on Prokofiev are mainly focus on analysis of his composition and biography, the basic theory of conversion experience is also involved in some literatures, however, judged from the overall situation, very few studies combine two aspects together. Based on the theory of emotional experience, this paper studied the process in which artists interpreted how they felt, understood, imagined and depicted life phenomena so as to explore the psychological motives for their creation. Besides, the process in which emotions and techniques got integrated was also studied so as to explore the important role of lived experience in aesthetic activities. By combining the basic theory of conversion experience with Prokofiev’s life experiences and representative compositions, to explored those life experiences that made his compositions explicit outside and implicit inside so as to understand how he expressed emotional connotation with different composing skills. This thesis consists of 3 parts as follows:Part 1 brings about the subject and interprets it. This part consists of 2 aspects:For one hand, it expounded lived experience, including the differences between lived experience and experience, the definition and categories of lived experience, the definition and categories of conversion experience. For another, it introduced Prokofiev’s life experiences, laying a foundation for discussing his creation in the next part.Part 2 is to represent Prokofiev’s compose style. It listed part of the compositions involved in the thesis and classified his compose styles which is based on different phases of his life experiences, laying a foundation for analyzing emotional experience in his compositions in the next part.Part 3 is analysis by examples. By analyzing the music vocabulary and, especially the music styles of Prokofiev’s representative compositions in different phases, it explored the emotional connotation expressed through different composing skills as well as the properties of life, lyricism, epic and brightness in them so as to perceive his reflection on life and conversion to the true self.Based on extensive literature collection, theoretical researches and analysis of music texts, this thesis attempted to explore the unique personalizing language and artistic sentiments which is deeply hidden in Prokofiev’s composition, by combining analysis of his composition, his biography and his theory of conversion experience. It not only provided a new research field for aesthetic psychology but also demonstrated the profound connotation in the composition of the great composer Prokofiev. |
