The Collecting And Comment Notes Of Literary Sketches Novels Appeared In The Supplement To Yiwenzhi Of The History Of Qing Dynasty

Supplement to Yiwenzhi of the History of Qing Dynasty is a work that had been finished on a modern Chinses scholar’s own efforts, whose name is Wu Zuocheng. It had done abundant supplements to Yiwenzhi of the History of Qing Dynasty. About ten thousand four hundred and thirty-eight kinds of Confucian Classic books had been added in total. Among these, there are two hundred and fifty-seven kinds of books belong to fictions in documents of Zibu, including there categories:literary sketches novels, chapter novels and Tanci. And the category of literary sketches novels possess fifty-two novels, such as Mengyuancongshuo, Lianshi, Wengyouyutan, Dunkulanyan etc. They Mostly reflect legend of the social reality, the weird phenomenon, anecdotes or other miscellany. According to current information, it seems that, among these fifty-two novels, only Liaozhaizhiyi had been adequately studied, the rest were barely mentioned. Liaozhaizhiyi has the highest literary achievements in classical collection of short stories in Qing Dynasty. It had attracted a large number of authors to follow its style. Among these fifty-two novels, there are many imitation works of Liaozhaizhiyi. In fact, there is no lack of good works of there novels, such as Wengyouyutan, Xiqingsanji, Xieduo, Jingchenzalu, Ershilu, Mengchangzazhu, Lanshaoguanwaishi etc. What a pity, they shouldn’t have received much attention in so long a time. In addition, because of the lack of information, there are many doubts about the fifty-two novels, such as the uncertain relationship between Suojiezaji and Liuheneiwaisuoyan. Therefore, a comprehensive and systematic study for these 52 novels is necessary. In this paper, material will be collected as much as possible. Strive to systematically collect the data of author’s life and thoughts, the compilation course of novels, the material which appeared in ancient bibliographies, and other relevant documents. It will set each novel a single unit, and order them as the record order of Supplement to Yiwenzhi of the History of Qing Dynasty. At the end of each unit, there is a profile comment attached, introduce the author biography, the main content of the novel, and the spreading and descending of versions of the novel. To express a preliminary understanding of the works, and wish to provide the reference for the researchers’further study.
