This report is a case study of a liaison interpreting practice. Based on her interpreting task for Amazon Web Service Company (AWS), the thesis writer of the report analyzes multiple roles played by the interpreter in the liaison interpreting task. The report mainly consists of three parts:the task description, case analysis and practice summary. The thesis writer of the report first describes the background information and features of this interpreting task and then introduces her preparation for it, including the preparation for project information, preparation for glossary and preparation for other considerations. Then follows the case analysis, which starts with four characteristics of liaison interpreting:two-way communication, interactivity, spontaneity and subjectivity and analyzes the four roles played by the interpreter----an interpreter, tourist guide, personal assistant and culture mediator. The last part summarizes the interpreting practice, reflecting on the significance of playing multiple roles in liaison interpreting and its implication for future practice, in the hope that she can do a better job when working as a liaison interpreter next time.
