Prospective adaptation refers to the individual actively adjust the current active for future adaptation through expecting all aspects of change in future study and life. Left-behind junior high school students is a new vulnerable groups which comes from in the process of the urbanization of our country. Whether they could adapt to the rapid development of society, future study and life is need to focus in the process of education development. The research of prospective adaptation of left-behind junior middle school students can reveal its status and characteristics, then promote the development of prospective adaptation level. This study discuss their prospective adaptation level, present situation of parent-child communication and social intelligence,then study the relationship among parent-child communication, social intelligence and prospective adaptation.In this paper,960 middle school students which in four schools of the western region of Hunan province were selected by random sampling, then finish the questionnaires. The questionnaires include four parts:general information, parent child communication, social intelligence and prospective adaptation. A total of 695 questionnaires were recovered, and the data were analyzed with SPSS 19 and AMOS 21. The following results were obtained:(1) The prospective adaptation, parent-child communication and social intelligence are normal distribution. The left-behind junior high school students are all in the middle level;(2) The prospective adaptation of left-behind junior high school students which has significant difference. It exists in gender, only child (yes or not) and grade:girls scored higher than boys; non only children scored higher than the only child; grade score was nine grade, and then grade eight, grade seven. We also know that the difference in the parents-child communication of left-behind junior high school which only exists in grade:grade score was nine grade, and then grade eight, grade sevenMoreover, the distinction in intelligence of left-behind junior school students which are determined by the gender, ranking at home and grade:girls scored higher than boys,the highest score in the middle of the child, followed by the older, the smallest and only child; grade difference is the highest score of nine, followed by the eight grade, grade seven.(3) They have a significant positive correlation for each of them in the prospective adaptation, parents-child communication and social intelligence of the left-behind junior high school students. The better parent-child communication, the higher prospective adaptation; the higher social intelligence also made the better prospective adaptation;(4) Due to the structural equation model, the prospective adaptation and parents-child communication which have a good fitness with the social intelligence model. What’s more, parents-child communication and social intelligence have a good predict effect of the prospective adaptation, and the social intelligence is the mediation between parents-child communication and prospective adaptation, its effect is significant.
