Objective:To investigate the relationship between peer victimi-zation and anxiety/depression of junior high school's rural left-home-kids and to explore the mediating effect of parent-child communication quality in this relationship.Methods:General Information Questionnaire,Olweus Victimization Questionnaire,Screen for Children Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders and Depression Self-Rating Scale for Children,and the Parent-child Communication Quality Scale were administrated to 1240 students at 6 junior high schools in Hunan Province.1124 samples were effective,and the effective rate was 90.65%.769 were junior high school's rural left-home-kids.Results:(1)In the past 3 months,50%of the junior high school's rural left-home-kids experienced peer victimization,victims of 7th grade were the most.(2)There were no significant differences between junior high school's rural left-home-kids and non-junior high school's rural left-home-kids in peer victimization,anxiety/depression,parent-child communication quality.(3)The detection rate of anxiety in junior high school's rural left-home-kids was 35.90%,and the depression was 30.30%.There were significant differences of children's anxiety in gender,type of parents' outgoing and parent-child communication satisfaction.There were significant differences of depression in parent-child satisfaction and frequency.(4)Anxiety and depression were positively correlated with peer victimization and negatively correlated with parent-child communication quality of junior high school's rural left-home-kids.And there was a significant negative correlation between peer victimization and parent-child communication.(5)Peer victimization could positively predict the anxiety and depression of left-home-kids.The parent-child communication quality negatively predict the children's anxiety and depression of left-home-kids.The father-child problem-oriented communication quality had mediating effect on the peer victimization and anxiety/depression of junior high school's rural left-home-kids.Conclusion:(1)Peer victimization was prevalent in junior high school's rural left-home-kids,and it was more common in the lower grades.(2)Junior high school's rural left-home-kids and non-junior high school's rural left-home-kids had no obvious differences in peer victimization,anxiety/depression,parent-child communication quality.(3)Anxiety and depression were more easily to occur among students whose mothers went out,the parent-child communicate dissatisfied,the parent-child communication lacked.(4)There was close relationship between peer victimization and anxiety/depression in left-home-kids,the higher level of victimization was and the higher level of anxiety and depression will be.Parent-child communication quality was related with anxiety and depression of left-home-kids.(5)Peer victimization could influence the anxiety and depression through the mediating effect of father-child problem-oriented communication quality.Improving the parent-child communication quality is helpful to alleviate the anxiety and depression and cultivate optimistic psychological health of the junior high school students in rural areas.
