Adolescence is a very important period in one’s life, it is the time for teengers to become more independent and take more social responsibilities.It askes teenagers to adapt to the requirements of modern social environment and personal development in a better way. And promoting the ability of adolescent social adaptation and pro-social behavior will help them better adapt to and make contribution to society.Literature about the issues of adolescent social adaptation and pro-social behavior at home and abroad in recent years shows that researchers has carried out extensive studies and achieved fruitful results on normal teenagers, but not much on specific youth, such as the orphan-teenager in SOS children’s villages (Hereinafter referred to as children’s villages).As a social care institutions for orphans, children’s villages provides home environment for them to learn how to get the capacity of social adaptation for their future, so it is important to improve the orphans’ social adaptive ability; at the same time, whether the orphan who grew up under the social funding environment are more willing to offer a hand when someone is asking for help? Is it different from children in normal family? These what we want study and discuss.For these reasons above, the research is divided into two stages:in the first stage we investigated social adaptability and pro-social behavior of 197 orphans-teenager from children’s village and 204 teenagers from normal family in the method of questionnaire survey, and then compared with two groups of adolescents in the social adaptation ability and pro-social behavior.In the second stage we tried to find out the reason for the differences about social adaptation ability and pro-social behavior in the two group by interviewing the mothers and relevant staff of children’s village, and explore and analyze the influence of family-based raising on social adaptability and pro-social behavior of teenagers in children’s villages.Conclusions are as follows:(1) Social adaptability and pro-social behavior of male teenagers from children’s villages were significantly lower than that of male teenagers from normal family.(2) In children’s villages, social adaptability and pro-social behavior of male teenagers were significantly lower than that of female teenagers.(3) There was no significant difference between junior and sinor school student from children’s villages in social adaptability and pro-social behavior.(4) Social adaptation and pro-social behavior of children’s villages male teenagers was significantly positive correlated, all the dimensions of prosocial behavior were also positively correlated.(5) Scoial adaptation of teenager in children’s villages plays a significantly postive role in predicting pro-social bebavior.(6) Family-based raising of children’s villages have no significant effect on development of orphan’s social adaptation and pro-social behavior.
