Research On Lake Poet History:Period Of Lake Poet Society And The Following Period

The lake poet society is a sudden rising literary society during the May 4th Movement, which is very distinctive and influential. With the change of literary atmosphere and the influence of May 4th new trend of thoughts, literature became an important link between the educated youth. And the lake poets brought a new breath of fresh air for the world of poetry by advocating free love, breaking the shackles of feudal ethics and rites and frank simple commitment to the creation of poems. But when the May 4th movement receded to a low ebb, the lake poet society gradually disappeared from the view of people. So the research emphasis of this paper is transformation, giving up literature for a military career, of the members after the lake poet society period. Through a deep analysis to the members, we found ’Literature’ and ’Revolution’ are the breakthrough point to unravel the mystery. And this paper is divided into three parts to interpret how this transformation occurs. We try to restore the historical appearance by focusing the transformation of members’ cultural identity and the process of revolution.The first part focuses on the indissoluble bound between the lake poets and literature with the coming of the literature era. Through the improvement of culture interest and level, and also along with the occurrence of May 4th literature revolution, their passion for literature was gradually stimulated and high school students suddenly became the emerging literature youth. At this time, they often gathered together and discussed the literature, and also initiated an out-of-school literary club, which focused on the creation of love poems. Their writings were bold content and free form. Soon through the distinctive writing style, they gained a huge reputation, and firstly attended the literary world. The second part mainly discuss members how to overcome the hesitations and relocate their own cultural identity after the lake poet society period. Their different identities determine their different destiny. The people who seek changes, went north, chased new Marxism Leninism, joined the Communist Party of China and entered the history as a revolutionary. The other people who fear changes, went far away from the political society as a hermit. The third part discusses the lake poets in the left-wing era of revolutionary struggle. Through the contact with Lu Xun, they began a relationship with the’left’. Inspired by Lu Xun’s spiritual guidance and leadership, they contributed to the development of the left-wing alliance to a new situation by mobilizing revolutionaries, organizing conspiring activities, editing and publishing journals and so on.This paper places the lake poet society in the twenties and thirties of the twentieth century and focuses on exploring the historical details. Through the detailed investigation and transformation of the lake poet society, we can understand the experience and changes of new youth during the May 4th Movement.
