The scientific research of College English teachers plays an important role in the development of teachers, the progress of the teaching level and the development of the university.This paper takes Daqing College English teachers as the research object, using literature method, survey method, data statistics and interview, investigated the current scientific research conditions of the English teachers in universities of Daqing. The survey includes three aspects: 1. The basic situations of College English teachers’ qualifications, job title, age,research. 2. The internal factors of teachers’ scientific research including the teachers’ scientific research attitude, teachers’ motivation, etc. 3. The external factors of teachers’ scientific research such as teachers’ scientific research management, scientific materials.Combined with teacher interviews, the paper analyzed the external environment and the internal factors which influence teachers’ scientific research and also showed the problems and the reasons of English teachers’ current scientific aspects in the universities of Daqing.For the scientific weak aspects, the diversified ways are given to improve teachers’ scientific research abilities. These diversified ways can be executed in the department. The ways can be shown as follows: The cultivation of teachers’ scientific research ability should be based on scientific network learning mechanism; The teachers should have organized academic reading and communication of scientific research; The teachers should be trained to play their own role of scientific research; We should training teachers to have more interest in scientific research so that teachers can have initiative to improve scientific research. For the poor state of scientific research environment the paper proposed more feasible suggestions such as English scientific research mechanism. It hopes to provide a reference for the professional development of college English teachers and healthy development of higher education scientific research.
