Under the guidance of the aesthetic theory, from the perspective of aesthetics, and from the three aspects of the generation of the aesthetic implication, aesthetic space construction and aesthetic value analysis, this paper attempts to summarize great success and the underlying reasons for the pleasant aesthetic experience brought to the audience by the documentary A bite of China, which aroused widespread concern in 2012. It discusses how documentary aesthetics should integrate into the construction of Chinese advanced culture and how to adapt to and meet the general public’s continuously increasing and changing aesthetic need in today’s era.Introduction Problems are put forward in this part. It interprets the background and origin from three angles:overview of the research object, a brief review of the development of the documentary, and the call of documentaries to aesthetics, as well as the introduction of the research object, research content and methods. It analyzes the current situation, progress, achievements and shortcomings of the field, as well as the possible innovations of the study. The first chapter:the aesthetic implication generation of A bite of China. Form the angles of civilian view, fragmented structure, narrative style, poetic language, fine expression and other aspects, it analyzes how the documentary generate and express the aesthetic connotation, causing widespread resonance, so that the audience get the deep and pleasant "peak experience".The second chapter:the aesthetic space construction of China:on the Tip of the Tongue. In this part, it appreciates the aesthetic space construction techniques of the documentary respectively from the four aesthetic dimensions:highness--the aesthetic transcendence from the pleasant sensation to the aesthetic feeling; depth--the sublimation of experience from material to spirit; width--the wide resonance from the nation to the world; and temperature--the humanistic care from the tip of the tongue to the heart. The third chapter:the aesthetic value analysis of A bite of China. In this part, first of all, it discusses the inheritance and development of the documentary to China’s traditional aesthetics by combining the understanding of taste sense and aesthetics in ancient China and Zhong Rong’s work on "The Taste". In addition, it discusses the documentary’s artistic pursuit of "harmony between man and nature", which is the highest aesthetic realm from the three perspectives of the ecological thought of Tao following the nature, the homeland consciousness of retaining nostalgia and the aesthetic feelings of recovering the original simplicity. Finally, by combining the Chinese saying of "the aestheticization of everyday life" in the documentary, it discusses the characteristics of people’s aesthetic orientation in the era of fragmentation and the revelation of the documentary for aesthetics to return to the real life.
