Adult Attachment And Internet Addiction

The popularity of the Internet has brought great convenience to people’s study and life, but also bring a series of harm to the individual, family and society. Internet addiction, as one of the negative effects of Internet use, has aroused wide attention of the whole society. It has become a hot research topic in the fields of sociology, psychology, education and so on. Only by finding out the influencing factors of Internet addiction, can we be more targeted for the prevention and treatment of Internet Addiction. The study selects students from several universities in Hubei as subjects. By testing CIAS-R,CSLSQ,ECR and FQI, we researched the relationships among Internet addiction, adult attachment, peer relationships and loneliness in college students. The conclusions are shown as follows:(1) The Internet addiction of college students has significant difference in the grade.(2) Attachment avoidance has significant difference between rural students and urban students, so does the economic level and whether they are the only child or not. Attachment anxiety has difference in gender and grades.(3) In friendship quality,girls have better friendship quality than boys.(4) Internet addiction has a significant positive correlation with loneliness, attachment avoidance and attachment anxiety. Internet addiction has a significant negative correlation with friendship quality(5) Loneliness score has a significant positive correlation with attachment avoidance and attachment anxiety, but negatively correlated with the quality of friendship.(6) Attachment avoidance has a significant positive correlation with attachment anxiety, and negatively correlated with the quality of friendship; Attachment anxiety has a significant negative correlation with the quality of friendship.(7) Friendship quality is fully mediated by interpersonal loneliness to influence Internet Addiction(8) Interpersonal loneliness and development loneliness can significantly predict individual Internet Addiction.(9) Attachment avoidance has two ways to affect Internet addiction, on the one hand is the mediating role through the development loneliness, On the other hand is the chain intermediary role of friendship quality and interpersonal loneliness chain intermediary role to influence Internet Addiction.(10)The effect of attachment anxiety on Internet addiction also has two paths, one is the direct predictive effect of attachment anxiety on Internet addiction, and the other is through the mediating role of the development of loneliness.
