Research On Vocabulary Of Wuhan Dialect

Wuhan is called "han" for short.It’s the capital city of the Hubei Province.It includes three regions:Hankou,Wuchang,Hanyang.The Yangtze River and the Han River flow through Wuhan,so Wuhan is called "River City".Wuhan is located in the middle and the lower of the Yangtze River plain and the east of Han River.In China’s economic and geography circle, Wuhan is the most central location, known as China’s economic and geography "heart". Wuhan is the largest city and the financial center, transportation center, cultural center in central China,. It’s the central city in Wuhan City Circle and the transportation hub both on water and on land in central China.Wuhan not only has a unique geographical location, it has a long history.Wuhan has been built for 3,500 years, and it is one of the founding of the city in the history of China’s most historic cities.By the end of 2015, the resident population of Wuhan has more than ten million people, and it is a veritably big city.According to the classification made by "Language Atlas of China" (1987) and "History and Culture of Hubei Geography"(2000),Hubei dialect is divided into three areas, namely Southwest Mandarin area, Jianghuai Mandarin and Gan area speaking areas.Wuhan dialect belongs Southwest Mandarin,and it’s divided into the old city and the new city dialect.Of course, the most authentic dialect is three areas in Wuhan.At before,three is a big difference between the three areas in Wuhan such as words and tones.But now,three areas have build a strong connection,so three areas dialect is almost exactly the same.This article takes the vocabulary of Wuhan dialect of Hubei Province as research object.First of all,in the on-the-spot investigation foundation,we compile the glossary of Wuhan dialect.On the basis of the glossary of Wuhan dialect,we can make contrast research from the horizontal and the vertical aspects.Comparing it with the Mandarin,we can conclude the whole profile and the basic features.Then we can research the changes of Wuhan dialect through the differences between the old and the young.At last,we may sort out the features of Wuhan dialect vocabulary,with more description and illustration,trying to reveal some of the characteristics of Wuhan city and the Wuhan dialect vocabulary.The paper is divided into seven parts:Chapter 1:IntroductionIn this section is the profile of Wuhan’s geography and demographic and the Wuhan dialect.Nest is the Wuhan dialect phonetic system and the research literature, purpose, significance, methods.Chapter 2:The vocabulary of Wuhan dialectChapter 3:The words formation pattern of Wuhan dialectAnalyzing the vocabulary of Wuhan dialect from the lexical aspect It can be divided into three parts:composite, overlay and add-on.Chapter 4:The comparison between the vocabulary of Wuhan dialect and the vocabulary of MandarinMainly we compare them from the form and the meaning of the vocabulary.Chapter 5:The changes of the vocabulary of Wuhan dialectIt includes the appearances of new words,the disappearances of old words and the changes of the meanings.Chapter 6:The particular words of Wuhan dialectIt includes appellation, euphemism, Swear Words,and the words of food.Chapter 7:Conclusion.
