This article selects the college students as the object of study, in order to establish the questionnaire of social identity and explore the structure of the participation social identity. It can be regarded as an effective tool to evaluate the social identity of college students.With the special characteristics of college students in our country, we creates the items of social identity based the analysis of texts and results of open questionnaire. After using the statistical method of item analysis, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, a questionnaire named social identity of college students is finally created. The questionnaire has good reliability and validity. After preliminary application of the formal questionnaire, we analysis the differences of demographic variables in social identity of college students, then examines the relationship among the social identity and participation behavior in network group events. Finally we get the following conclusions:(1) This questionnaire about social identity of college students has a clear structure , which included four factors named cultural identity, national power identity, national consciousness, political identity. Furthermore, cultural identity contains nine items, national power identity contains six items, national consciousness contains four items, political identity contains eleven items.(2)The questionnaire has a high reliability and validity, we can use it to evaluate the social identity of college students. The Cronbach’s alpha for each factor is 0.858^0.767> 0.844,0.921 and for total questionnaire is 0.908, it shows that the questionnaire has a high reliability. The confirmatory factor analysis shows that the fit indices are also good. The correlation among each factor is between 0.249 and 0.474. The correlation of each factor and total questionnaire is between 0.513 and 0.868, which indicates that the total questionnaire has high structure validity.(3) After analyzing the differences of all demographic variables in social identity, we can find that:There are significant differences existing in grade, political stations and hometown. In contrast, there are no significant differences existing in major, nationality, gender, experiences as students’ leaders, average family income.(4) There is positive correlation between social identity and participation behavior in network group events. The national power identity and political identity can forecast the participation behavior in network group events.
