This essay researches the using of strategies to learn pronunciation, regarding the Arabic majors in Northwest University of Nationalities as its research object. It aims at indicating the connection between those students’using of pronunciation strategy and their marks in the pronunciation course, with the help of three research methods including observation, investigation and interview and the pronunciation marks before and after training.Firstly, this essay put forward the theoretical basis following the introduction of the research result of pronunciation study provided by domestic and foreign scholars. The theoretical basis contains the social education theory of second language acquisition, the related study strategy and the training strategy of the second language’s pronunciation. And it gives the Arabic language learning strategies and the classification of them applied by this research with the support of the three pronunciation learning theories. In order to collect the first-hand and credible material, three research methods are used, including observation, investigation and questionnaire. Observation aims to ensure the authenticity of the data, and questionnaire is primarily used for making sure the using of Arabic pronunciation learning strategy. And in order to comprehensively research the situation of how students use writing strategy, I have interviewed 18 students majoring in the Arabic language and 2 teachers.Besides, through analyzing the result of the observation, questionnaire and interview, this essay further deepen the explanation of the using of the strategies to learn the Arabic pronunciation by those students in this university. The analysis shows that students has applied almost all the pronunciation learning strategy in studying the Arabic language, yet each strategy was used with great different frequency. Meanwhile, the research result indicates that the students with a high mark in Arabic pronunciation course and those with a low one have different way to use the learning strategies.According to the investigation result above, this essay chooses two classes as the object of the experiment, and conducted a 18-week training experiment on Arabic pronunciation learning strategy. The results of the experiment show that it is viable to train the Arabic majors to acquire pronunciation learning strategy, and this kind of training can improve the students’ pronunciation scores.Finally, this essay points out several problems in present learning of Arabic pronunciation, and offers some suggestions to tackle the problems to both teachers and students.
