Abstract/Summary:
Observation style, as the driving force for painting’s visual representation, has a very profound impact on the entire creative process of painting. Also as a major factor in understanding the evolution of styles in art history, observation style is closely related to the evolution of artistic concepts and thus is the key to our understanding of contemporary paintings.Different observation styles can form different language forms of art in the process of transformation from objective things in nature to visual representation in painting, and heritage and development in art history will lead to many and various forms of visual art of painting. Observation and presentation are not only the process of visual experience and emotional change but also the result of emotional reproduction in various forms of presentation of colors.Based on a review of different observation styles, the thesis first introduced the impact of observation style on creation of painting and the resulting painting language of different forms, then focused on the analysis of the unique observation styles in the paintings of two artists Giorgio Morandi and David Hockney, and their understanding and application of observation styles in the practice and creation of painting, in order to inspire and guide the consideration and reflection on the inheritance and innovation in the creation of painting based on a more extensive artistic vision. We will first study art theories in the traditional and modern development of art history and then constantly practice painting from life by learning from multiple observation styles of different artists. In this way, we can achieve multi-level and multi-angle interpretations of objects, explore more observation styles for creation of painting, and try to research and practice painting objects of different styles and their expression in oil paintings, so as to lay a solid foundation in the expansion of creative space for our future creation of painting. In this thesis, I will interpret the inheritance and innovation of various observation styles and specific means of creation based on a series of paintings The House in the South I have created in recent years.
