Observation is one of the basic form of Chinese traditional aesthetic methods, through which subject and object come into aesthetic contact with each other, and we also call it aesthetic vision in aesthetic meaning. It is combined with sensibility and logos, by means of which we can get "Tao", what's more, we maybe get into artistic conception. For one thing, direct aesthetic vision is the key to bring imago. In addition, Observation can grasp not only the surface of the whole thing but also the essence of the matter, which we call the reality of beauty or Tao. So we can call that "observation of Tao" in philosophy ontology. Next, artistic conception is the form of Tao, and Tao is the reality of artistic conception. The particular aesthetic methods, that is, contemplation and the observation of various angles, which are the types of observation, bring people both lingering charm and particular artistic conception. So it can also be called "observation of artistic conception" in aesthetic ontology.Observation is rooted in Chinese traditional culture, which is undoubtedly influenced by the culture of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. By observing the person himself and looking into his soul one can achieve the freedom of spirit, what's more, one can win harmony through the unification of subject and object. Thus Observation displays one sort of aesthetic tendency which emphasizes humanity oneself. At the same time it reveals one kind of unique thinking mode of eastern aesthetics, that is to say, intuitional thinking which is on the basis of sensibility and logos mat supplement each other compared with the western aesthetic concept of "vision" which is within the confines of epistemology in that it is one kind of emotional experience which is founded on the blend of subject and object, attaining certain images.
