Yudu Hakka suona is extremely widespread with a long history. As one of its performance form, "Gongpo Chui", which is played by two persons with a high and a low tune, has a broad mass base in many rural areas. In the long-term performance practices, it has been deeply welcomed and loved by the masses with its unique performance means and artistic style, making it become a rare living fossil to understand Hakka producing, living and cultural customs.The research methodology of literature collection and field survey are mainly adopted in this thesis. Through a visit of the Cultural Center, the Education Bureau, ChangZhengYuan Primary School and the inheritors of each "Gongpo Chui" musical ensemble in Yudu, the author then has a more profound comprehension of the development origin and inheritance pedigree of "Gongpo Chui", as well as the shape and structure of suona.This thesis can be divided into introduction and four chapters. Chapter one mainly introduces the cultural formation spaces of Yudu suona "Gongpo Chui", including its development origins, geographical conditions, cultural environments, legends and customs; in chapter two, the shape features, artist characteristics, Qupai(i.e. the fixed tune) form of its musical instrument are presented; chapter three is a study on the basis of the author’s field survey, in which the distribution of musical ensemble, the introduction on musicians, inheritance ways as well as the difficulties in the inheriting process are elaborated; chapter four comes to the main part of this thesis, making a comprehensive analysis on the necessities and difficulties of bringing "Gongpo Chui" into the local music classes according to New Curriculum Standard.At present, most of the relevant studies are generally based on the inheritance and innovation, structure and performance features, artistic characteristics and other factors of "Gongpo Chui". While this thesis mainly focuses on the study of bringing "Gongpo Chui" into the local music classes with the combination of the existing literature and the reports from field survey, which can not be found in the previous research achievements.
