From 2011, the box office of Chinese mainland low-middle budget films has grown rapidly. And until now, the industrial chain of low-middle budget films has been more complete with the operation of the capital market, and it has been moving forward to the stage of content creation. This paper will discuss the content creation, the production and the distribution and the relationship with the audience to summarize the new characteristics of Chinese mainland low-middle budget films from 2011 to 2015.Firstly, this paper will pay attention to the content features of Chinese mainland low-middle budget films. The subject of daily life makes these films cater to the contemporary audience’s aesthetic orientation. And from the study of the type of these films, such as the youth, the urban love stories and the comedies, we can have a good understanding of the industrial characteristics of the content creation in them.Secondly, to analyze the audience’s characteristics. The summary of content is beneficial to discover the standard of the segments of audience and their common features, on the basis of these features, the reasons of teasing movies can be found.Finally, to explore the characteristics of marketing. From 2011 to 2015, the way of marketing has been increasingly diverse, and the rise of social networks is more useful for the movie creators to build an intimate bond with audience. So, Internet has been a helpful marketing tool for movies to spread topic, especially the topic of feelings.The gains and losses of the phenomenon can give some advances for the industry of mainland low-middle budget films, and the most important thing of them is to balance the content creation with marketing.
